Exhibition Report: J-DEC 2024 Japan Die Casting Congress & Exposition
First Appearance at J-DEC with Innovative Solutions for the Automotive Industry
Nihon Plasmatreat exhibited at J-DEC 2024 Japan Die Casting Congress & Exposition for the first time in November 2024. Drawing on our extensive experience in applications for key automotive components such as engine blocks, transmissions, and inverters, we introduced a range of innovative technologies at the exhibition.
Showcasing Plasma Technology Through Live Demonstrations and a 6-Axis Robot Exhibit
Openair-Plasma® surface treatment removes dust and organic contaminants while increasing the surface energy of the substrate, thereby improving wettability, adhesion, and bonding performance.
At the booth, we carried out live plasma treatment on a variety of test pieces made of materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, plastics, and composites. Visitors were able to experience firsthand how the technology instantly improves wettability through cleaning and surface activation.
We also demonstrated automated atmospheric-pressure plasma treatment on a large engine block using our Openair-Plasma® system mounted on a 6-axis robot. This allowed visitors to see two of the key advantages of Openair-Plasma® directly: its suitability for inline integration and its safe operation without generating ozone.
Featured Technologies and New Products
We also introduced AntiCorr®, our corrosion protection coating technology for die-cast components. Based on our atmospheric-pressure plasma CVD technology PlasmaPlus®, AntiCorr® is an innovative functional coating solution that is both efficient and environmentally friendly, without requiring a vacuum environment or drying process.
In addition, we presented FG8000, which can support a wide range of applications, as well as a new nozzle offering the industry’s widest treatment width. FG8000 attracted particular attention for its stable multi-nozzle control and its ability to enable efficient surface treatment of large components.
Visitor Response and Future Outlook
Visitors showed strong interest in the technology as a surface treatment solution that can reduce environmental impact through primer-free processing, improve manufacturing efficiency, and deliver high reliability. Many also responded positively to its potential for dissimilar material bonding and for applications involving complex geometries.
As a surface treatment specialist supporting customers in solving bonding and joining challenges, Nihon Plasmatreat will continue to accelerate its efforts toward further advancement in industrial applications. We remain committed to helping customers address their challenges through innovative technologies, advancing our technical development, and continuing to provide products and services that meet evolving customer needs.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support.
